Re: Custom RSS Feeds

July 25th, 2009

We have had many people asking if custom feeds were supported. It is not available in version 1.0 of the application as we wanted to make the application available as soon as possible. We are however currently working on version 1.1 of the app that will add many new features including the ability to submit new feeds to the service. This feature will let you define the feeds as public or private. The public feeds will need to be reviewed before being added to the service.

Updated to add: In the interim if you need a feed added to the service, please hit the contact us link at the top of the screen and send us the feed url. We will review the content and add it to our servers.

Application Review Process

July 20th, 2009

logoRSSPushWe submitted our application on June 25th to the Apple application review team and have not yet been put on the App Store. We got in contact with someone in the developer relations team and he has been helping our application move along the review process. Without his help, we would have been waiting many more weeks for this process to be completed. I won’t mention his name here but if he reads this, thanks for all the help.

Hopefully we will see our app posted soon to the App Store near you.

In the mean time, we have been adding new feeds to our service, we have over 500 new feeds being classified right now and more are on the way!

If you would like some new feeds added to the service for now you can post them in the comments of this thread. In release 1.1 of the application we will have a screen where you can submit your feed URL for review. Please keep in mind that no feeds with objectionable content will be accepted.

Update July 21: Just spoke to my contact and he says the approval process is almost completed, if I don’t see anything in the next few days that I should contact him again and he would escalate it again. The waiting game continues…

Update July 23: Well it’s been 2 days since the last update, there is still no news from Apple’s Review Team, I will be calling my contact later this morning (time zone difference). Hopefully he will be able to speed up the process. It has almost been a full month. In the mean time, we have prepared a step-by-step tutorial on how to use the application. We will only release it once the application is available on the App Store.
